Group Counselling

Group formats are an important role in primary rehabilitation and it is no different once the person becomes a member ST George’s halfway house. Recovery themes are allocated weekly and range from anger-management, art groups and basic skills such as CV compiling and communication skills. The weekly themes are based on what the staff of St Georges feel is needed or what the residents of the sober living home may request. Group formats are the perfect platform for interaction with other residents and staff alike. They allow residents to communicate on pertinent topics, exposing them to different points of view, providing them an opportunity to voice their opinions and ask questions to get the clarity they may require. Group counselling schedules will be shared with residents and group counselling sessions are compulsory for residents of the home.
